Changes!

Well, everything at the doctor went great!  The doctor was listening to the heartbeat and baby boy kept kicking the microphone!  My fundal measurement was 30cm... little bigger than average,  but not too big.

Then last night, a little after 8, the recruiter called.  He wants Danny to come in this morning rather than waiting until Wednesday.  Most likely, the recruiter boss guy from Plano will be in the office, but hopefully, a job has opened up and they want Danny to get it.  That just may be my wishful thinking.  The suspense is killing me though!  What makes it worse is that I will be here until 7:30 tonight so I won't get to see Danny until after 8pm.  I'll let you know!

More appointments

We had a great weekend! Saturday we (by we, I mean Danny) sanded the floors in the baby room.  I went to Home Depot and got the sandpaper and a sample of stain.  About 80% of it is sanded.  I did more cleaning out in the office and filed everything left from what I started last week.  Sunday we met my parents for dinner in McKinney.  The baby moved so much this weekend!  It is so bizarre to see your stomach move on its own!  He hasn't moved at all today though which has me a little worried.  We go to the doc for our checkup this afternoon so we will know then.

Danny goes back to the recruiter on Wednesday... he'll be measured by the recruiter, the recruiter's superior, and then if he's there, they will take him to Plano for the regional supervisor to measure him.  If that guy says OK then they will go back to the office in Garland and Danny will get to reserve his job!  From there, within 7 days, he will go to MEPS and swear in.  Of course, he still won't go to Basic until July, but he will officially be a future soldier.  Now we just need to find him a job until July and we will be good!  If you know of ANYONE who is hiring or needs temporary help, please let me know!

Mixed News

Well, there is good news and bad news.  The good news is that Danny did fantastic on his ASVAB so he pretty much can do whatever he wants if it is an open position.  Other good news, they measured him and he is at the body-fat percentage in order to be eligible to join the Army.  I saw the thyroid doctor and all my levels are good and I don't have to go back to her til the end of April!  YAY!

Now for the not so good news.  The recruiter took Danny back to the office after his test last night and did a search for jobs available 4/5 through 5/15 or so.  Nothing came up.  Not one job in the entire Army.  So the recruiter expanded the search through the end of July and about 7 jobs showed up.  He expanded it through November and about 20 showed up.  So Danny can join, he is eligible, but he can't go to basic until July.  The good part of that is he will definitely be here for the birth of our son.  That makes me very happy.  On the other hand, he needs a job.  Knowing he will be leaving in a couple of months makes it that much harder to find one.  His job for the past two months has been to lose the weight.  He did his part, and now he still has to wait.  It is so hard!  Now he has to continue to count every calorie consumed and run everyday in addition to searching for a job to get us through until July.  I would have given up by now, but he keeps on.  He is such a strong man and I am a very lucky woman!

Danny is taking his ASVAB right now and I am about to go to the evil thyroid doctor!  Send some kind thoughts and positive energy our way!

Back to work...

Last week was spring break and it was wonderful!  I did not take anything home, I didn't look at anything related to students, I did not have to tie any shoes or wipe any noses.  It was fabulous!  I caught up on laundry, the dogs are clean, the weather was beautiful.  Who can ask for anything more right?  I will... I want another week!!!  It goes by so quickly, and I had a ton left to do!  I guess that is what weekends are for.

Danny takes his ASVAB tomorrow so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!  The better he does, the more options he will have as far as jobs are concerned.  Things are falling into place and it is exciting!

So proud!

I could not be more proud of Danny right now!  Since we got together in August 2008, he has lost over 100 pounds.  He talked with the recruiter this morning and is going to take his ASVAB test on Tuesday afternoon.  This is the test that will tell him which jobs he is qualified to do.  It is just one step closer to our future in the Army and we are so excited!

In baby news, I had my blood glucose test done last Tuesday and everything was normal.  Well, I was a little anemic, but nothing a little iron supplement daily can't cure.  What's one more pill at this point anyway right?  The hardest part is that none of them can be taken together or with meals so its getting tricky to schedule.  I'm figuring it out.  The doctor had trouble discerning my heartbeat from the baby's so we got to see him again.  He is getting so big!  He has been moving around like crazy and Danny has gotten to feel him move and hear his heartbeat.  I am so happy he didn't miss that part!

The next few weeks are going to be a little crazy, but I'll update when I can!

New Design!

I am so excited!  My blog looks great thanks to a very talented friend!  I realize that the blog address is babyeasterlingisontheway.blogpot.com, but I really plan on keeping this up even after the baby is born!  I am so happy to have a design that fits us now and can grow with us.

PUP or pox?

So Friday night I broke out in little red bumps all over my belly.  Then it spread to my legs.  Those little red bumps itched like nothing I've ever felt before!  I called the doctor who said it was most likely PUP, but since I have never had chicken pox, it could be that too.  But I would have to wait until Monday to find out.  Seriously?  Can't you die from chicken pox when you are older?  Neither Danny nor I have had them so needless to say, we were both checking to see if we had a fever non-stop.  As of today, still no fever so I didn't go back to the dock.  I've been taking the benedryl and slathering on the caladryl lotion regularly and with the exception of the small spot on my arm, it has gotten better.  So... PUP it is.  I still have no idea what it stands for or what it actually is but my friends have reassured me that it is normal and it will be okay!

Migraine is gone!

Went to the doctor yesterday and everything looks great!  She told me what to take for my sinus/allergy problems and suggested I take a tylenol pm last night to help me get a good nights sleep.  It worked!  My migraine is gone!  YAY!  With all that is going on in school this week and next, I needed it to go away.  We have TELPAS testing, the first TAKS test was yesterday, plus we are doing Dr. Seuss since his birthday was Tuesday, and we are doing a unit on Texas for open house next week.  I think tomorrow we are going to attempt to make a salt map of Texas.  This should be interesting...

So Busy!

Wow!  The past couple weeks have flown by!  I am now 23 weeks, 1 day pregnant.  I went to have bloodwork done last week and apparently my body is not absorbing my thyroid medication.  She argued with me, accused me of lying to her to the point I had to leave the room because I was so upset.  She upped my dosage and I went back for bloodwork yesterday.  She is supposed to call with the results tomorrow.  After this is sorted out, I will be finding a new thyroid doctor.  Does anyone know a good endocrinologist in Dallas?  I haven't like this one from the get-go.  I didn't like mine in Sherman.  I'm about ready to drive back to College Station once a month to see Dr. Shaunmugam.  I didnt understand half the things he said, but he was nice and treated me like a human and not a case study.  I miss that.

I'm feeling the baby kick all the time now.  Danny's parents came to visit this weekend and we went the races.  The boy was going bananas!   Hopefully I do not have a racecar driver in my belly!  Danny is extremely close to joining the Army.  This morning he was where he needs to be so he made an appointment for Thursday to talk to the recruiter we like.  On one hand, I'm excited and so proud of him.  On the other hand, I am terrified of being alone again and know I am going to miss him like crazy!  I know it is what he needs to do.  He is so cute when he talks about it... this will make him so happy!  I am just anxious.  I want to know where he will be, what his job will be, and whether or not we can go with him.  I guess I'll know more Thursday!  You will know when I do!
