Gibson's Little Man Mustache Bash

As usual, I'm behind in my posts.  Gibson turned 2 at the end of June.  We had such a great party!  Friends and family came to help us celebrate and I was so pleased with the theme!  I got the custom printables from BelvaJune on Etsy.  Stephanie, Bryan, and the girls stayed for a fajita dinner and Gibson finally got cake!  Thanks to everyone for making his day so special!  The pictures below are so out of order, but they are too cute not to share!

Craziness!

It has been a crazy couple of weeks.  Last week Gibson's ears were draining lots of nasty goupiness.  I took him to the doctor and he had a nasty double ear infection.  So he is on antibiotics and ear drops.  He is definitely feeling better.  This weekend we went to Allen to meet Grams for some shopping.  Gibson was so good, back to his natural charming self.  Sunday we got his haircut, went to Target and Dollar Tree.  Then we signed up for swim lessons at the Y.  I'm so excited about this!  He is so good in the water already so I am excited to see how he does.  Yesterday morning I started to feel icky and by the end of school my head was in a toilet.  Not fun.  I stayed home from school today.  I'm starting to feel better and can finally keep things down.  Gibson was so sweet yesterday and today.  He knows what to do to make me feel better everytime.

22 months old!

I can't believe my baby is 22 months old! He is getting so big! We had a super busy weekend full of swimming and sun! This week I'm on spring break from Grad school. We have our Cinco de Mayo festival at school on Friday and my last ARD of the year. I started to get nervous when I hadn't heard from any schools for interviews so I applied for about every district in the state. Bingo... three interviews... in Midland! I applied there on a whim, but I don't really want to go there... do I? I'm not sure what I should do. I'm still hoping for something close to home, I don't want to move!!!!! Here are some pics of Gibson lately!

We had a busy week!  Playing outside, swimming, and on rare occasions actually sleeping.  I can't believe he is 22 months old!

And we are back!

I think the title of this blog was a little too accurate!  Let's see, Gibson turned 1, started walking and shortly thereafter started running and has not stopped!  He is almost 22 months old.  He still has allergies, but his asthma (brought on by RSV) has cleared up.  Since he got tubes, he has only had one ear infection.  He is tall, handsome, joyful little boy who lights up my world (and wears me out completely!)

We moved to Irving and I started my fifth year of teaching, 3rd year in Irving.  I started my Master's degree in September.  Danny and my divorce was finalized in December.  He is in Colorado so we don't get to see him.  In March, I found out I would not be teaching at Gilbert next year so I have been actively looking for a new position.  It's been a crazy year!  I'll leave ya with some of my favorite shots from the few months.

Catching up

So much to catch up on!  Gibson is almost 11 months old!  He is crawling and walking the walls around the house.  He has 6 teeth, 4 on top, 2 on bottom.  He is eating people food, not just baby food.  He still isn't talking but he is so expressive.  I gave him his first haircut... we will be going to a professional from now on :) We will be moving to Irving soon.  I'm excited to start a new life that will just be ours.  I can't wait to leave this house!  Here are some pictures to catch ya up.

Please excuse the lack of clothing on my child in the above pictures.  With how much he is drooling plus for a while the ridiculous amount of snot from all his congestion (he gets tubes next saturday, hopefully that will help), I got tired of changing bibs and onsies and decided to just let him roam free!

Picture time!

I bought a Living Social deal a while back for photos at Studio One Photography.  Tomorrow is our appointment and I'm so excited!  Gibson is at such a cute age.  I'm so lucky to have a healthy, happy little boy.

On a sad note, I decided to find a new home for my dog Sam.  I got Sam five years ago when I was in college.  I was really depressed and Sam sorta saved me.  She deserves so much more love and attention than I am able to give her right now.  I am sad to see her go, but I'm glad to have found her a good home.

I'm remodeling my kitchen... by myself.  Am I crazy?  Maybe.  I did the floor already and I've taken the doors off and sanded them.  Now I just need to paint them and try to find a countertop solution.  This is a cheap remodel.  I am trying to do the whole kitchen for under $500.  So far, so good.  One can of appliance paint, a countertop... done!  Then I just need to refinish all the hardwoods, deep clean and stage and I will be ready to put it on the market!  Can't wait to have a shorter commute!
