Michael Kors giveaway!!!!!

While it isn't my giveaway, I wanted to tell you about it:)

I love a good watch.. and one of the Michael Kors kind ranks at the top of my list. I don't actually own one.  I have my functional goes with everything Seiko that my daddy gave me for Christmas a couple years ago.  I like the way it looks, but I see people with these lovely MK watches and that fashionista that lives deep down inside of me that never gets to have any fun screams,  "OOOOOO, I like, I want, gimmme!!!!!!!!!"  and then the practical single mama of a 2 1/2 year old gives her the one eyebrow and says, "Honey that's daycare for a month"  Fashionista goes back in her corner and pouts.  So, now thanks to all these lovely creative people below... I might win one!!!!

Sweet Shanna and 17 other's are hosting an amazing giveaway to win one of these very watches.

Hello, amazing!

Gimme, Gimme!!!!

That fashionista in me wants to come out and while I'm trying hard to let her come out as I lose the weight keeping her hidden, this would really let her have a chance to shine!

Ready for winter!

Obsessed with his winter hat from last year that I couldn't get him to keep on his head for ANYTHING is now the first thing he puts on and the last thing he takes off.

My parents had a Halloween party in which everyone dressed as elves.  Lucky people are able to see pictures of BOTH my parents wearing tights!  I only get my kid in a cute elf's hat.  :)

He got tired of the hat for a minute, put it through the pet door.

He is just so darn cute!

Pumpkin Patch

Went looking for a pumpkin patch today.  We were in Arlington anyway and found a site for a farm off Bowen Rd where you pick your own pumpkin.  Gibson gets to run through a field and pick a pumpkin... sounds like fun!  Well, this "farm" which is maybe an acre was pretty picked over and the free hayride that you received when you bought your pumpkin was actually a flatbed trailer with a gym mat pulled by a small John Deere.  Oh well, Gibson had fun!

It is very difficult to get a self-pic of you and your kiddo who is sitting in your lap sitting on a flatbed being pulled by a tractor.  Its the best I could do!

lately.

It has been a very busy couple of weeks.  School is going well for both of us.  Gibson has gotten 2 purple stars at DCA (means Great Job!) and had one good day at Pebbles last week.  The second day at Pebbles didn't go so well so we still have some work to do on behavior.  Gibson is still a little slow to speak and has a very rambunctious personality so I have a feeling this is the root of our issue.  Tonight he started to get upset and I was bracing myself for a full-on tantrum when he sat down, put his hands in his lap and took a deep breath.  He sat there a minute and then started to play again.  I almost cried with relief!  I dread Gibson's tantrums and know they are not over, but it is so amazing to see just this little sign of his maturity.  At Pebbles they put him in a class with 3-3 1/2 year olds because of his size.  I imagine he is very frustrated because they can speak better, do more, are mostly potty trained, and just older.  He's only 27 months old!  Alot of emotional growth happens between his age and theirs.  It frustrates me that his teachers do not seem to understand this.  They sent him to the office Thursday.  Seriously?!  Sending a 2 year old to the office?!  There has to be another step.  I guess time will tell.  I just hope we get it worked out before they kick him out!  Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks.

Playing trucks in mommy's lap despite the deck and backyard.

Kamryn, Lauren and Gibson.  My gosh he loves these girls!

The first of the two purple stars... The first one is blue and is also great!

Playing blocks at Grams and Papa's with the awesome sock monkey house shoes I found at the resale shop down the street from my parents.

Fall festival in Denison... cold and rainy, but he is still smiling!

Sitting where he shouldn't be, but my gosh, he looks huge in this picture!  These are the jeans he wore last year and I've had to tighten the waist but I don't have to roll them up anymore.

First Ranger Game!

On September 16th, we took Gibson to his first Texas Ranger game.  My parent's sunday school class bought a group of seats in the All You Can Eat section.  After church, my parent's came to pick up Gibson and me and to meet my Uncle Avos who went with us.  It was a great group of people and plenty of people to help corral Gibson.  First, thank goodness we were in that section because it was raining and those seats are covered.  We got to the ballpark around 1:15, parked in the handicapped parking (cause my mom has a temporary bum foot!), and went up to our seats... the game didn't start until after 4!  Gibson was just starting to get cranky and act out when the field crew came out to prepare the field.  Thank goodness cause he was mesmerized.  The ballgame started and the Rangers won!  Such a great outing with great friends and family!

Gibson's first day of preschool!

Gibson has an interesting schedule this year.  I am working in Keller this year which means a commute, but it also means we are closer to Stephanie and she is helping out so much with Gibbs.  Monday and Wednesday he goes to school with Kamryn and Lauren at DCA.  Tuesday and Thursday he goes to Pebbles right up the street from Steph.  Fridays he stays with Steph and the girls.  It is kind of confusing for me so I am sure it is for him, but he is learning (which he did not do last year in daycare).  Its also saving me about $300 a month so that almost makes up for the gas!

Gibson is ready for school!
